Your first ten minutes
Account, province, logo, share link, first client.
Foyer is the portal you give your renters. They get one link and a checklist of what a rental application needs; you get an email the moment anything lands. Setting it up takes less time than one round of follow ups.
1. Say who you are
Under Settings, Profile, choose whether you are a realtor, a landlord or a property manager, and your province. Your renters see that word in their portal and emails, and the province sets the deposit, inspection and lease items on new checklists. Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta each have their own.
2. Put your name on it
Under Branding, add your brand name. On the Pro plan and above you can add your logo (up to 2 MB) and your colours, and the portal your renters open looks like your business.
3. Copy your share link
Under Share with Clients, pick the last part of your link, for example /r/your-name. Put it in your email signature, on a listing or in a text. Anyone who signs up through it lands in your client list, assigned to you.
4. Try it before a renter does
From the Clients page, add the sample client. Alex Sample comes with a filled application, a co-applicant, three documents, a letter to the landlord and a day of viewings, all marked as samples. Click through every tab, send yourself the package, then remove Alex whenever you like.
5. Bring in your first client
Send your share link, or invite them by email from the Clients page. Either way, the first upload emails you. Read Bringing a client in for the two ways and what each one looks like from their side.
