Support Centre · For renters
Your privacy, your data, your account
Who can see what, how long it is kept, and how to delete everything.
Your documents are stored privately. Only you and the realtor you are working with, and the teammates they add to your file, can open them. Every file is served through a short lived private link rather than a public address, and documents are encrypted at rest.
Who at Foyer can see your file
Nobody. Foyer’s administrator cannot open your file: the database and the file links refuse it. If your agent wants Foyer’s help with your file, they can turn on support access for it, for up to seven days. You see that in the access log on your Account page, along with every open during that time, labelled Foyer platform administrator. The real estate agents of Royal Merit Realty Inc., the company behind Foyer, have no access either.
When your file closes
Once your file is marked completed or archived, your uploaded documents and application answers are deleted after the retention period the person you are working with has set: six months unless they chose otherwise. Your Account page shows the period that applies to you.
Sharing with a landlord
When your application is sent to a listing agent or landlord, they get one expiring link, and every page they open carries their name.
Deleting your account
From Your account in your portal, delete your account at any time. It removes your uploaded documents and the information you entered, permanently.
The full privacy policy has the rest, and the security page shows where the data lives and who can touch it.
